'KILLING ME' SETS CHUNG HA TOWARDS GLOBAL RECOGNITION
BORN in South Korea but raised in Dallas, singer CHUNG HA’s global appeal has led her to become one of the top solo artist in Korea.
To date, her first ever special single ‘Killing Me’, an uptempo, pop number piece
with rhythmical vocals that describes painful heartbreak sets the stage for furthering CHUNG HA’s global recognition.
The chorus in ‘Killing Me’ highlights CHUNG HA's vocal colors and her writing abilities as she describes the repetition of everyday life and exhaustion.
However, like the bright light at the end of a tunnel, CHUNG HA refocuses her message of hope in these lyrics for people.
This release follows the highly successful debut studio album, 'Querencia', which featured notable collaborators from latin-pop breakout star Guaynaa, dance mainstay R3HAB, Korean rapper CHANGMO and Korean R&B artist, Colde.
'Querencia' has over 170 million combined streams and video views since its release, and marked CHUNG HA’s debut on Billboard’s World Album Sales, Next Big Sound, and Emerging Artists charts.
With accolades from NME, Nylon, Dork Magazine, Buzzfeed, and many, many more, Querencia - like the woman who created it - is a global phenomenon.
Indeed, Billboard said the album “mark(s) a turning point for K-Pop’s international reach.

That year, she won Rookie of the Year at the 2018 Seoul Music Awards.
From that point on, CHUNG HA has topped chart after chart, reaching and breaking milestones across various territories around the world.
Billboard included her 2019 single “Gotta Go” as #3 on their year-end "25 Best K-pop Songs of the 2019" list.
“Gotta Go” was also included on Billboard's "The 100 Greatest K-Pop Songs of the 2010s" list and remains one of the most streamed songs by a Korean soloist on Spotify.
Her recent single, “Stay Tonight” debuted at #4 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart.
She is the second highest charting K-Pop female soloist to be placed on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart this year.
