35TH MIMF 2024 SETS RECORD BY ACHIEVING 804 BOOTH WITH 42O FOREIGN & 380 LOCAL PARTICIPANTS!
FOR three consecutive days, Malaysia will witness the 35th Malaysia International Machinery Fair (MIMF) 2024 beginning July 11th to 13th at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
Organized by ES International Event Management Sdn Bhd with the cooperation of the Malaysia International Trade Link Association (MACITA), the 35th MIMF wiil see a new record achieved on the number of exhibitors totalling about 804 booths altogether.
“Out of that 380 are local and 420 foreign exhibitors from various countries including Japan, Korea, Germany, India and Iran to name a few,” said Member of Parliament for Cheras and Former Malaysia Special Envoy to the People’s Republic of China, YB Tan Kok Wai (below) during his speech of the official launching of the Malaysia MIMF 5.0 High Technology Forum which will be held alongside the 35th Malaysia International Fair 2024.
Also present at the event was the MACITA (Malaysia-China International Trade & Industrial Allaiance) Life President, Lady Puan Sri Dr. Susan Cheah; President of Malaysia Promas International Business Society (PROMAS), Dato Chong Chong Tik; President of DPUM, Dato Seri Abu Hasan Mohd Nor, President of Wawasanita, Datin Norly Alias and other distinguished guest from Malaysia and China.
According to Tan Kok Wai, the forum will focus on five new areas: new energy, new materials, new technique, new products and new economy market.
“It will provide local SMEs with insights on how to use new materials and technologies to create new products, as well as how to use more environmentally friendly new energy sources to participate in promoting Malaysia's new economy.,” added Tan.
The forum which is organised by MACITA and managed by ES International Event Management will be held for two days on 11th and 12th July 2024, will allow attendees to directly access new technologies and materials after gaining insights at the forum.
On that note, speaking to the media, Chong Chong Tik (left) hope that through the forum, participants will find new dierections and lead their companies towards a brighter future.
“This forum will provide industry leaders, experts and companies with an important platform for technical exchanges and networking opportunities in the high tech industries for SMEs,” said Chong focusing on the diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations, a grand welcome dinner will be held on the first evening of the 35th Malaysia International Machinery Fair 2024.
The dinner will take place on July 11th from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Sunway Putra Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
‘We are honoured to announce that Malaysia’s First Lady, Dato' Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, will attend the dinner and present the "Trade Partnership Achievement Award 2024" to participating trade associations,” added Chong.
The award recognizes trade associations that have made outstanding contributions to Malaysia-China trade relations, acknowledging their efforts and achievements in promoting economic cooperation between the two countries.
‘This dinner will serve as an important platform for business exchange and cooperation, aiming to strengthen trade and cultural ties between the two countries and promote the deepening of bilateral trade relations,” ended Chong Tik.
For the record, since its first edition in 1989 at the Chin Woo Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, the MIMF has been held for 34 consecutive years.
Starting with just 50 booths, the MIMF has grown into a large-scale industrial machinery exhibition covering various sectors including Packaging and Food Processing (MY-PACK PRO), Plastics, Mould and Tools (MY-PLAS), LED Lighting and Sign (SIGN, LED- LIGHT MALAYSIA), and Bakery Equipment (MY-Bakary).
Each year, the MIMF attracts companies from around 10 different countries and region, making it one of Malaysia’s longest standing and most influential industrial equipment trade fairs.
Now, with the rapid advancement of technology, the 35th MIMF will be introducing a new segment - the Smart Tech, focusiing on packaging, few processing, plastic and LED industries aiming to help small and medium enterprises achieve technological innovation.
Areas of focus include cold chain logistics, warehouse automation and solar (LED) technology which aim to enhance production efficiency and quality while reducing cost. This will boost the competiveness of Malaysian brand products in the international marrket.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the Malaysian SME Entrepreneurs, Abu Hassan when met hope his members from the Malaysian Entreprenuers Chamber of Commerce (DPUM) will take the opportunity to gain knowledge and exchange ideas with fellow counterparts from different countries at the MIMF for the benefit and advancement of their business whilst penetrating the global market easily.
