THE 35th
Malaysia International Machinery Fair (MIMF) 2024 will officially begin tomorrow, 11th July, at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). The event kicked off today with the soft launch of the MIMF Online Exhibition and witnessed the signing of an MoU between SUMEC International Technology Co. Ltd. and the organizer, ES International Event Management Sdn Bhd.

“This collaboration will not only extend the exhibition’s visibility globally but will also bring more business and interactive opportunities to exhibitors and visitors,” said Dato Chong Chong Tik, President of Malaysia Promas International Business Society (PROMAS), at the soft launch and signing ceremony at MITEC.

The MoU was signed by Datin Fan Shu Hua, (below, front left) General Manager of ES International Event Management Sdn Bhd, and the Marketing Director of SUMEC International Technology Co. Ltd., Bao Wei (front right).

The ceremony was witnessed by the Member of Parliament for Cheras Kuala Lumpur & Former Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the People’s Republic of China, Tan Kok Wai; Life President of the Malaysia-China International Trade Link Associations (MACITA), Lady Puan Sri Dr. Susan Cheah; General Manager of the Fourth Business Department, CMEC International Exhibition Co., Ltd., Cui Xin You; President of Wawasanita, Datin Norly Alias; and other distinguished guests from Malaysia and China, including President of DPUM, Dato Seri Abu Hasan Mohd Nor.

According to Chong Tik, this marks the first collaboration between ES International Event Management and SUMEC in organizing 365 online exhibitions for the Malaysia International Machinery Fair.

Apart from SUMEC, other Chinese agents participating include CMEC International Exhibition Co., Ltd, Guangzhou Aoger Exhibition Co., Ltd, Beijing Yin Qi Cheng International Exhibition Co., Ltd, China Food & Packaging Machinery Industry Association, and Guangzhou Mass Exhibition Co., Ltd.

“Their participation not only enriches the Malaysian International Machinery Fair but also strengthens the friendly relationship and cooperation between the two countries. Each of the Chinese exhibitors represents excellence in machinery technology and industry,” added Chong Tik.

He believes that their presence showcases the strength and innovation of Chinese enterprises, promoting business and trade exchanges between China and Malaysia, and building a closer bridge of cooperation between the two countries.

This year, MIMF 2024 gathers many entrepreneurs and exhibitors from China, providing a robust platform for networking.

“With over 85% foreign exhibitors from China and various other countries including Japan, Korea, Germany, India, Iran, and more, plus 15% from local Malaysian participation, MIMF 2024 targets about RM4b to RM5b in sales compared to RM3b last year,” Chong noted, expressing hope that entrepreneurs and exhibitors will find good networking opportunities.

Participants can not only exchange the latest technologies and innovations but also find potential cooperation and investment opportunities to further promote trade relations and economic cooperation between countries.

“We strongly believe that all participants will contribute to the success of MIMF 2024. Their expertise and experience in the relevant fields will provide valuable contributions to the High Technology Forum, collectively driving the industry towards a more prosperous and innovative future for SMEs while enhancing the richness of the MIMF Fair this year,” concluded Chong Tik.

In celebration of the fair and in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations, a grand welcome dinner will be held on the opening day, 11th July, at the Sunway Putra Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, with Malaysia’s First Lady, Dato Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, as the guest of honor.

During the dinner, Dr. Wan Azizah will also present the Trade Partnership Achievement Award 2024 to participating trade associations.
